Meet Robeisy Sanchez, owner and chef at Neci & Sage.
Hi, I’m Robeisy. Growing up, I began cooking alongside my mom in a small but cozy kitchen – the perfect size for my 5 foot self. There, I learned authentic Dominican cuisine and gained an appreciation for the power of food within the home. It was only when I began experimenting with styles and flavors, that I felt the freedom to create new dishes that reflected my own personality. This passion that started at a young age propelled me to pursue cooking as an adult. I attended the French Culinary Institute in New York City and learned classic techniques, which have allowed me to work professionally in a number of notable kitchens. The restaurant industry soon became my home, and where my heart belonged. After honing my skills at many distinguished restaurants, including Barbara Lynch’s Menton, Boston’s only Relais & Chateaux, Oleana, and Bar Mezzana, I desired to learn more about “front of house” operations as well as the intricacies of service and hospitality. In 2021, I became a certified Health Coach learning an immense amount of nutrition and what it is to live a holistic lifestyle. Neci & Sage was created to meet you where you are and deliver full-service hospitality in the comfort of your home. I believe that with some creativity and an appreciation for technique, the simplest of dishes can become exceptional meals. And what’s more – they can all be done right in your own kitchen.
The name Neci & Sage was derived from two elements that I believe are essential to any great chef. The Latin word “neci” represents fire and passion. And “sage,” meaning thoughtful and experienced, represents the appreciation for technique and the never ending pursuit of knowledge and refinement.
